Growing up, my mom always pointed out the graceful “S” shape of Viet Nam on a map. Now when I gaze upon that “S” shape, so many feelings bubble up - longing, belonging, not belonging, confusion, comfort, foreign, familiar, war torn, hope. Despite whatever the complex feeling that would surface, one was consistent - connection.
